Why Do We Love Photography?

Our child’s first step, a beautiful sunset, our senior prom; what do they all have in common? The odds are that we have a photo of each one. Photography can help us remember the special moments of our lives. In the past, photography was relatively expensive and was only used on special occasions by those who could afford it. Now it is so inexpensive that anyone can produce studio quality photographs with just a little effort. It is easy to see why many people fall in love with photography.

Photography helps us stay close to those who are far away. Often, families are separated by long distances due to work, school, or military assignments. Sending photographs help us feel involved with each others day to day lives. It is one way to share in activities that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to.

Photography skills

Photography is an interesting skill. There are so many types of photography that there is something for everyone. Whether, you enjoy wildlife photography, or making funny pics of your friends you can have a ball. This hobby can be treated as an art, or as a science, or a bit of both. It is a faithful companion that can give you a lifetime of enjoyment.

You can use photography to create a visual journal of your life and travels. Imagine 20 years from now sitting down and opening a book. As you glance at each of the pages you are filled with a warmth that comes from reliving each special moment of your life that the book contains. Memories that once were dim are now bright and clear.

Family history

You can use photography to create a family heirloom that can be passed down for generations. What would it have been like if your grandparents had been able to give you a photo album that contained your family history for the last 150 years? Now, you have the ability to begin creating a heirloom for your descendants. These are just a few of the reasons that photography is so special.

There are really too many reasons to list here. Why don’t you take your camera out and see if you can find a few of your own. I promise that you won’t regret it.
